Blacksmith Restaurant was opened in March of 2014 by chef and restaurateur Justine Zegna whose previous endeavors included Planet X Café, founded in College Park, Maryland and then relocated to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and Venus of the Half Shell in Dewey Beach, Delaware.
Besides brick and mortar restaurants, Justine also established Planet X Catering. A moving kitchen and design company that catered to touring rock bands and large venue rock concerts including Tibetan Freedom and HFStivals to name a few. The rock catering also included stints as private chef to bands and musicians such as Foo Fighters and Perry Farrell.

On the forefront of a movement now called “Farm to Table”, chef Zegna and staff continue to maintain close and collaborative relationships with local farmers, bakers as well as companies that share in her philosophy of keeping the focus on Local, Small and Handmade.
